Apache Camel 4.18 LTS end of life

Apache Camel 4.18 LTS reaches end of life in February 2027, per Camel's download page. Camel supports only its two most recent LTS lines, each for about a year, so 4.18 will be replaced by the next LTS and stop receiving fixes roughly five months from now.

  • Camel Spring Boot 4.18.x, which shares the version and the lifecycle

What actually breaks in the upgrade

The one-year LTS window is the real constraint

Camel states that LTS releases receive fixes for up to one year. Staying supported therefore means an LTS-to-LTS upgrade every year, indefinitely. Most enterprise integration estates do not upgrade on that cadence, which is how they end up unsupported without anyone deciding it.

Apache Camel extended support

What your auditor will say

PCI DSS v4 Requirement 6

Requires that system components are protected from known vulnerabilities by installing applicable security patches. A release line with no upstream patch stream cannot meet this by itself, whatever the scanner reports.

SOC 2 CC7

Vulnerability identification and remediation. Scanning satisfies identification. Remediation is what fails when the fix does not exist for the line you run.
