// MariaDB support
MariaDB support after the 10.6 end of life.
Patched 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6 builds and the current LTS lines, under one contract.
OSSeva provides MariaDB support for 10.4 to 10.6 and the 10.11, 11.4, 11.8 and 12.3 LTS lines, including patched builds for 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6 after the MariaDB Foundation's community maintenance ends. Community maintenance for 10.6 ended on 6 July 2026, five years after its GA. The usual answer is an upgrade to 11.4 or 12.3, which mariadb-upgrade can do in one step. Patched builds keep 10.6 servers covered on the same data directory while that upgrade is planned and rehearsed, and support is priced per cluster.

Why MariaDB 10.x servers are still running
The upgrade path is documented and direct. What slows it down is the calendar and the cluster.
10.6 is past its community date
The Foundation's maintenance table ends community maintenance for 10.6 on 6 July 2026, for 10.5 on 24 June 2025 and for 10.4 on 18 June 2024. Further 10.6 maintenance from the vendor is an enterprise subscription through mariadb.com, to 23 August 2028, with an extended option to 23 August 2029.
Newer LTS lines get shorter community windows
Up to 11.4, community LTS binaries were published for five years after GA. From 11.8 they are published for three years, with critical and security fixes in source releases for two more. That is why 11.8 ends on 4 June 2028, before 11.4 on 29 May 2029.
Galera clusters move one node at a time
Each node is upgraded, started and run through mariadb-upgrade, and the next one waits until the first reports Synced. A cluster that runs mixed versions during the change window needs that window planned and rehearsed.
Rolling releases move every quarter
Rolling releases ship quarterly and each is maintained for a short window: 13.0 from May 2026 to the fourth quarter of 2026, and 13.1 from September 2026 to the first quarter of 2027. A team that adopted one for a feature is on a quarterly upgrade cycle.

What OSSeva delivers
Patched MariaDB 10.4 to 10.6 builds
Security fixes backported in step with the quarterly MariaDB release cycle, as signed DEB and RPM packages, tarballs and container images. Same series, same data directory, same configuration.
An upgrade plan to a current LTS
A plan from 10.x to a current LTS such as 11.4 or 12.3, rehearsed with mariadb-upgrade, plus a Galera Cluster and replication topology review, a MySQL and MariaDB compatibility assessment, SBOMs and CVE remediation records.
MariaDB operated
24/7 Galera, replication and backup monitoring, a 15-minute P1 incident response SLA, rolling upgrades executed node by node, and quarterly capacity and performance reviews. OSSeva Operate patches Critical CVEs (CVSS ≥ 9.0) within 48 hours and High within 7 days.
Your options, compared
| Option | What you get | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade to 11.4 or 12.3 LTS | Community maintenance to 29 May 2029 or 12 June 2029, reached in one step with mariadb-upgrade | Application testing against the new release. For most estates this is the right destination. |
| MariaDB enterprise subscription | Maintenance for 10.6 to August 2028, extended to August 2029, from mariadb.com | A commercial subscription. The better fit if you want builds from the company that develops MariaDB's enterprise server or use its enterprise-only tooling. |
| A cloud managed database service | MariaDB run and supported on the provider's platform | Covers only instances on that service, on its version calendar. |
| OSSeva MariaDB support | Patched 10.4 to 10.6 builds, current LTS support and upgrade help, with MySQL and the rest of the stack on one contract | A subscription priced per cluster. |
| Stay on 10.6 unpatched | Nothing | No committed community fixes after 6 July 2026, and scanners report the gap. |

Frequently asked questions
Who provides MariaDB support?
The MariaDB Foundation publishes community releases and their maintenance dates. Enterprise subscriptions with longer maintenance are sold through mariadb.com, cloud managed database services support MariaDB on their own platforms, and independent companies such as OSSeva support the community server you run yourself.
When is MariaDB 10.6 end of life?
Community maintenance ended on 6 July 2026. The Foundation lists enterprise maintenance through mariadb.com to 23 August 2028 and an extended option to 23 August 2029.
Which MariaDB versions are supported?
As of October 2026, the community LTS lines are 10.11 to 16 February 2028, 11.4 to 29 May 2029, 11.8 to 4 June 2028 and 12.3 to 12 June 2029. The rolling releases 13.0 and 13.1 are maintained to the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
What should MariaDB 10.6 upgrade to?
11.4 or 12.3 for the longest community runway. The Foundation states that mariadb-upgrade can upgrade database files from any older release, so 10.6 can go straight there without stopping at 10.11.
Can we keep our MariaDB servers and change support?
Yes. OSSeva takes over support for the community binaries and data you run today. Patched builds stay in the same series, so moving to one is a normal minor update, one Galera node at a time.
Are MariaDB rolling releases covered?
Yes, on OSSeva Assure and Operate, without patched builds. Each rolling release is replaced within months, so the support is for running and upgrading them.
Does OSSeva support MySQL too?
Yes. MySQL 5.7 and 8.0 are covered with patched builds after Oracle's end of life, along with 8.4 and 9.7 LTS, under the same contract as MariaDB.
How is it priced?
Per cluster rather than per server. The tier you choose, Patch, Assure or Operate, sets how much of the work OSSeva takes on, and the database support cost calculator works from your own figures. Book a discovery call for a quote.
