MariaDB 10.11 end of life
MariaDB 10.11 is a long-term release with community maintenance until 16 February 2028, five years after its GA on 16 February 2023. The MariaDB Foundation's table gives the same date for enterprise and extended maintenance, so no vendor option runs past it. The latest release is 10.11.19, from 22 August 2026, and quarterly releases continue until the end date.

What actually stops on 16 February 2028
- Nothing yet. 10.11 still gets quarterly maintenance releases, most recently 10.11.19 on 22 August 2026.
- On 16 February 2028, community maintenance ends. The Foundation's table lists that same date for mariadb.com's enterprise and extended options, unlike 10.6, whose enterprise maintenance runs two years past its community date.
- After that date, fixes made on newer LTS lines have no committed 10.11 release from the community or from the vendor.
What actually breaks in the upgrade
No commercial runway from the vendor
For 10.6, a team that missed the community date could buy enterprise maintenance for two more years. For 10.11 the table shows no such gap: community, enterprise and extended all end on 16 February 2028. Plan the upgrade to finish before then.
11.4 outlasts 11.8
11.4 is maintained to 29 May 2029 and 12.3 to 12 June 2029. 11.8, the newer line, ends sooner, on 4 June 2028, because its community binaries are published for three years instead of five.
Estates on 10.6 and 10.11 can move together
mariadb-upgrade handles database files from any older release, so 10.6 and 10.11 servers can both go straight to 11.4 or 12.3 in one programme. That avoids moving 10.6 to 10.11 now and again in 2028.

Including the ones that do not involve buying anything from us.
| Option | What it is | Effort | Cost | Our view |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Upgrade to 11.4 LTS | Community maintenance to 29 May 2029. | Weeks | Engineering time | A long runway on a line already in wide use. |
| Upgrade to 12.3 LTS | The newest LTS, maintained to 12 June 2029. | Weeks | Engineering time | The furthest date, with the most change to test. |
| Stay on 10.11 and take each release | Quarterly community releases continue to February 2028. | Hours per release | Engineering time | Fine for now. Set the upgrade date well before February 2028. |
| OSSeva support for 10.11 | One contract for 10.11 and the rest of the data stack, with upgrade planning. | Days | Subscription, priced per cluster | Puts MariaDB under the same contract and escalation path as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Redis. |
What OSSeva does for MariaDB 10.11
OSSeva supports this line
MariaDB 10.11 is in OSSeva's MariaDB versions table as a current LTS line, and OSSeva supports it today with fixes from the community's 10.11 releases. Assure adds an upgrade plan to 11.4 or 12.3, rehearsed with mariadb-upgrade, and a Galera and replication review; Operate runs the rolling upgrade node by node. OSSeva's patched builds cover the lines already past community end of life: 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6.
MariaDB extended supportWhat your auditor will say
The data store is a system component in its own right. An unsupported version with no patch source is a finding; a documented third-party patch stream is the usual remediation.
Auditors ask for evidence that production systems receive security fixes. A version past end of life fails that test unless another supplier ships the fixes and can show which CVEs they close.
For EU financial entities, the ICT risk and third-party provisions apply when a critical service depends on software with no support arrangement in place.
